Bad news today.

You know how I told you sometimes ice cubes fall from the sky here? Well, last week we had a terrible storm. No one that lives around here can ever remember a storm this bad. Ice the size of golf balls and some even as big as tennis balls were falling on us for over half an hour, and there was a tornado really close to the house. I was home all alone and was so scared. Mom didn't even know it happened because by the time she came home from chorus all the ice had melted.

One of our neighbors told Mom that the ice cubes had messed up their roof and Mom should get our roof inspected. So she did, and guess what. We have to put a new roof on the house. The house is only 5 years old. Poor Mom just spent a bunch of money getting her car fixed up, and now she has to fix the roof.

I don't talk about the sad stuff in our life, but today I just have to. She's been working real hard with the bank to get them to let us keep our pretty house, and now this. She's so sad. She didn't sleep last night but tossed and turned all night. It hurts my heart and makes my eyes leak to see her so sad. Can you imagine if she spends all that money to fix the roof and then can't even keep the house? She has insurance, but she says she still has to pay something called a deductible and it's a lot of money.

Thanks my furriends for letting me meow on your shoulders. Sometimes you just have to get the sad stuff out, you know?

Tell your hoomin to talk to the Red Cross and see if they can help. With this economy in much shambles, it might not be much, but every little bit helps. Make some calls too to local churches and ask them if they know of anyone that can help. Just be thankful you're ok, and hey, if you have to sell the house and get an apartment for a while until things get better and you can buy another house, sobeit. It's better than being on the street. We sure do hope everything works out though! Hugs!!!

I'm really sorry. I understand about life throwing things at us all at once and I certainly understand financial stress; boy, do I ever.

So my thoughts are with you, the cats are sending purrs, and I'm sending universal Light for your Highest Good.

(((Hugs)))

Hi there...Never think you cannot share bad news with your friends b/c we've all been there at some time or another and if we lived near you we'd help you with your roof, etc. I don't like to talk about negative things on my blog too often either but sometimes it is necessary. Besides, if you don't vent, you're not helping yourself at all.
I agree with Lynx...you should contact the Red Cross b/c they always know what resources are out there. Churches and other area organizations could help you as well. Don't give up and keep trying!

You could also write a letter to Oprah or Ellen and you could be the next one on their show to win some money and a little help too! I know it's a silly piece of advice but it's worked for some people! heehee!

That's why my peeps sold their house and bought the condo b/c these unexpected expenses were always happening. I hope the Red Cross can help you.

I'm so sorry about the situation. Hard economy times are hitting everyone. But never think that you can't share things that bother you with us. We are a family and I want you to know that we will purr good vibes for you and have you in our prayers. Look for help with the agencies, I know you will find the help you need. *Nosetaps*.

We are so sorry about all the money issues you are having - this is the mom here - talk to your insurance company and also get a second opinion on the roof - I usesd to work at a construction company that did insurance repairs and we would get calls from people who had been told their roof was bad but in reality it wasn't as bad as they had been told - there are a lot of greedy people out there who take advantage in situations like this. The insurance company can send an adjuster to do an inspection. And usually the deductible is paid to the contractor, not the insurance company, so see if you can negotiate it to be made in payments - we did that all the time. We are sending lots of purrs and prayers your way - we hope that things with the roof go ok and that you do get to stay at your pretty house - we know how hard money things can be. And we are sending your mom lots of comforting hugs too!
