International Box Day

Everyone knows cats like boxes. Well the box I'm gonna show is a furry special box because it came from @Mulder_cat's and @Scully_cat's @Staffpurrson. It's one of the famed Harry & David boxes that Mulder and Scully like so much.

It arrived with all kinds of goodies in it! I got most of the goodies. Candy and EK got the box and the fleece pad.

Wooly Snail and Dental Chews Review

http://www.nipandbones.com/zanies-sparkle-fish-cat-toys.html
See this fishy? This used to be EK's favorite toy. Not any more. His new favorite - my pink wooly snail. MY pink wooly snail. MY snail that I ordered with MY http://www.nipandbones.com/ gift certificate that I won at #pawpawty. ME, not EK. I won the gift certificate and I ordered the snail for me. Do you think I've gotten to play with it yet? NO! Little stinker boy's been hogging it ever since it showed up. Needless to say, it's a very popular toy in our house, and I haven't even gotten to nom on it very much yet.
The snail I'm talking about is this one: http://www.nipandbones.com/snail-cat-chew-toy.html. You can see it in this picture:

Here's a video of EK playing with the snail:

So that's sort of my review of the Wooly Snail. It's just fun to play with however you like to play. It's nommy for chewing on, too.

The other toy I ordered with my prize was Dental Chew Toys - http://www.nipandbones.com/dental-health-chew-cat-toys.html. You can see them in the picture, too. So far no one's shown any interest in them. Mom's even waved them right in front of our faces trying to get us interested in them. Nothing doing. For some reason, not a one of us wants to play with them. So I guess my review is that we think they're boring.

So that's my review of the other two toys that were in the box. I'm so glad I got the Spiky Ball to test. I love it so much that I guess I can let EK hog the pink snail for a while. I'll have to sneak my snail time in when he's napping. MOL

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Packages From Near and Far

Happy Sunday efurryone! My Sunday started out perfect. All three of us kitties snuggled in bed with mom for a really long time while she finished a book she was reading. It must have been a big book cause it took hours and hours to read. Plus there were scritches and games of 'chase mom's fingers under the blankie'. It was lovely.

Now for my excitement this weekend. I got two packages - one from nearby and one from very far away. The first package was the one from far away. It came all the way from New Zealand from my furriend @rumblepurr.

See at the top? It says "New Zealand Post" Isn't that pawsome?

Of course I had to inspect the package furry carefully before I let Mom open it for me.
Sniff, Sniff. I can smell Rumblefamily on it. Cool.
Wait 'til you see what was inside. It was a kiwi. It even made kiwi noises. Isn't it cute? There was also a lovely card from @rumblepurr and a little finger puppet.

Getting acquainted.
The other box was from Nip and Bones. It had the snail and dental chew toys I ordered with my #pawpawty prize gift certificate, and also a surprise!
See the purple, green, and white fringy thing? That's a Go Cat Go Spiky Ball! I didn't buy it, but it's not a present, either. I got it for a furry special reason.  Baby Patches selected me to be one of her toy testers! I'm so excited about that. We get toys to test and right a review about. Of course, I don't get paid to do reviews. I do them because I want to help Baby Patches and Nip and Bones find just the right stuff fur us to buy.

Well Baby Patches knows how much I like to play fetch, so she thought I'd be the purrfect cat to test out the Spiky Ball to see if Nip and Bones should carry it. We have thirty days to play with and review the toys, but I didn't need thirty days. I've hardly stopped playing with since mom took it off the card for me. Candy and EK like it, too.

Here are the pros and cons, pros first:
It flies well when mom throws it.
It's nice and soft to bite into so I can carry it easily.
It's light enough to bat around and toss in the air.
It's big enough to fight with and almost big enough to bunny kick.
It slides really well on the wood floors.

cons:
It doesn't bounce well.
It's too big to go under the door to play door hockey.

As you can see, the con list is really short.

Here's a video of me playing with it:

That's my review of the Spiky Ball. I would highly recommend it for any cat that likes to play fetch or chase, or likes toys they can carry around in their mouth easily.

Even though these aren't toys that were sent for testing, later in the week I'll do a review of the toys we ordered. One we liked, the other we ignored. Check back later in the week to find out which was which. MOL Have a good week efurryone!

Lippe's Visit with Pumpkin

Hi everyone! Sorry I'm a couple of days late with my blog. I had no typist for the weekend. *glares at mom*

I'm gonna let Lippe use the blog today to tell you about his visit here. We've been having a great time playing with my toys and my fursibs, but that was all when Mom wasn't home so we don't have many pictures of us playing. Lippe's gonna tell you about his adventures with Mom that I didn't get to go to. Here's Lippe.

Lippe here. I've been all kinds of places and did all kinds of things while I've been in Colorado. I can't believe how much fun I've had. Aside from all the fun I've had with Pumpkin and her fursibs, here's some of what I did with Pumpkin's mom. If the dates look funny to you, it's how we write them in Europe, day first, then month, then year.

24/5/11   I arrive at Pumpkin's Mom's office and hung out with her at work.

26/5/11    Estes Park, CO    This was a long, busy day. We drove up to Estes Park and stopped at the Colorado Cherry Store on the way up. Then we went to Estes Park Brewery to buy some beer. After that we went to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) and saw lots of critters, especially elk. Then we walked around town for a while and went to a winery for a wine tasting. After a full day in Estes Park we stopped at Costco on the way home to shop. I couldn't believe how big Costco was. When we finally got home I fell right to sleep and didn't even wake up for dinner. I must have been tired to sleep through a meal.

27/5/11    Nowhere special    Got the car fixed (I didn't break it), met Pumpkin's mom's friend for lunch and some shopping, climbed a big bear!

30/5/11    Second Creek Nature Trail    I finally got to ride in Pumpkin's super cool stroller! We went on the nature trail right behind Pumpkin's house. We saw lots of bunnies and birds. The weather was turning bad while we were walking and we got back to the house just in time not to get rained on.

1/6/2011    Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Preserve    Pumpkin's mom likes to do lots of outdoor naturey stuff, so we went to a wildlife preserve. We saw prairie dogs, bison, hawks and eagles, bison, deer, bison, rabbits, bison, and lots of other critters. Oh, and did I mention the bison? They were tremendous, like elephants. Well, maybe not that big, but almost.

3/6/2011    Colorado Symphony Orchestra (CSO)    I went to work with Pumpkin's mom and then we went out to dinner and to the symphony to hear Sandi Patty. The whole evening was fun. We sat outside for dinner and the restaurant next door had live music outside, so we really had 2 concerts that night! Walking back to the car after there were so many people out and the streets were super busy. It was lots of fun watching all the people.

4/6/2011    CSO again!    We spent the whole day in downtown Denver wandering around. We started out at the City and County building. We climbed all the way to the top and got a picture on the roof. It was fun. Then we walked through a street festival called The People's Fair. The heart of downtown is a street mall called the 16th Street Mall. There are free shuttles that run up and down the mall. We got to ride one for a while. We also took lots of pictures of cool buildings. There were pianos all over the mall and people playing them. I played one, too. We saw the railroad yard, bridges, Union Station, and Coors Field. Then we had dinner and went to the symphony, this time to see Pink Martini. They were awesome. I loved it! It was a long day with a lot of walking. I was a very tired but happy bear when we got back to the house.

10/6/11 - 12/6/11    Back to Estes Park    We went back up to Estes Park, and this time stayed the whole weekend. We stayed at a lovely cabin in a place called The Evergreens. It had a spa tub and kitchen and we relaxed a lot. A little chipmunk came in our room. We gave it a piece of hot dog bun and got a picture of it running off with the bun. It was so cute. We went back to RMNP. This time we saw bighorn sheep and a brown bear in addition to elk and deer. We also spent lots of time walking around town and watched a man blowing glass and I got a new shirt. We walked around the Stanley Hotel. This is the hotel that inspired Stephen King's 'The Shining'. When we left Sunday, instead of driving straight back to Denver, we drove back through the park, over Trail Ridge Road, through Grand Lake and over lots of mountain passes. Trail Ridge Road goes over 12,000 feet high. There was still snow at the top and it was like 12 feet high! We also crossed the Continental Divide. I'll have to look that up because that was a big deal, but I don't know why. Something about which way the rivers run on each side of the divide. The whole weekend the weather was perfect. We had a wonderful time.

That's the highlights of my trip to Colorado. I hope you all enjoyed my pictures online at Lippe's Visit with Pumpkin. Not all the pictures are up yet, but they should be by the weekend.

Pumpkin back again. As you can see, Lippe kept Mom furry busy the last few weeks. We've all really loved having Lippe visit us and are kind of sad he has to go. But we've had a nice long visit, and now it's someone else's turn to enjoy Lippe's company. I hope he has a wonderful time on the rest of his trip. It's gonna be awfully quiet and boring around here without him. We love you Lippe!

Meezer Colors Day

EK here. I'm borrowing the blog for today to show you my meezer colors.

I know I look more like a tabby than a meezer with my beautiful cream and orange markings, but just look at me! I have blue eyes, I'm built like a meezer (I'm little for a boy cat) and I have a meezer meow. And Cathy at Duncan's Place told Mom that I'm part meezer when Mom picked me out. So I think I get to show off my beautiful colors for Meezer Colors Day. You may admire me now.

*gets poked by Pumpkin. 'Don't forget to...'* Sheese. I didn't forget. Go away, Pumpkin. Sisfurs! What are you gonna do? Anyway, I'm supposed to remind efurrybody that if you entered the Hill's Giveaway, to go here to see if you won and how to claim your prize.

Happy Meezer Colors Day! *preens*

Hill's Science Diet Giveaway Results

It's time to announce the winners of the 15 bags of Hill's® Science Diet® Hairball Control cat food. There were only 16 entries, so everybody wins! Concatulations everyone! 15 of you will get your bags direct from Hill's and someone local to me will get their food from me because I have some extra here at the house. Unfortunately, as wonderful as this food is, one of us in the household has an extremely sensitive tummy and didn't react well to it (glares at offending sisfur). EK and I think this is wonderful food. If it were up to us, Mom would switch us to this. Unfortunately, the kitty with the sensitive tummy outvotes the rest of us. :(

Please email where you want your food shipped to pumpkinpuddy@gmail.com. I'll forward all the addresses on to the wonderful people at Hill's. Thanks everyone for participating in my giveaway. I know you're gonna like this food. I sure did.

That's it for this Sunday. Lippe had a big weekend and we gotta get all the pictures on the computer and get them labeled so we can post them, so I gotta say bye for now.  *runs off to get camera*
